Apply for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Digital Innovation Challenge 2026 - the 2nd edition of the AfCFTA Secretariat’s challenge to identify, nurture, and showcase digital solutions that strengthen intra-African trade, especially those led by women and young entrepreneurs.

Theme: Shaping Africa’s Future Through African Solutions. The programme supports operational digital tools that advance the AfCFTA Protocol on Digital Trade and the Protocol on Women and Youth in Trade, helping African MSMEs trade across borders more easily.

What Solutions Are Eligible

Submit operational digital solutions with clear impact on intra-African trade. Evaluation emphasises:

  • Proven impact - evidence the tool facilitates cross-border trade and benefits MSMEs
  • AfCFTA relevance - alignment with digital trade and MSME inclusion goals
  • Operational excellence - robust tech, UX, and backend stability
  • Scalability - potential to expand across African markets and regulatory contexts
  • Digital innovation - use or potential use of advanced tech (e.g. AI, blockchain) for trade facilitation
