ELIGIBILITY - To be eligible for CERN’s doctorate program advantages, one must be a citizen of a CERN member or associate member state. - Must have a well-defined research strategy in line with CERN initiatives and be enrolled in a doctoral (PhD) program at the time of submission. - To align with CERN’s research topics, an academic background in physics, engineering, computing, or closely related fields is required. - Since English and French are the working languages at CERN, proficiency in any language is required. - To guarantee alignment with their dissertation research and a seamless transition into the CERN program, applicants must have support from their home university, including supervisor permission.

BENEFITS - 3,907 CHF monthly tax-free allowance that ensures financial stability during the program. - Each year, there are 30 days of paid leave plus an extra two weeks for the annual closure, which promotes rest and work-life balance. - Complete health insurance, guaranteeing medical assistance when visiting Switzerland. - All travel costs to Geneva are reimbursed, including foreign students’ relocation charges. - For qualified participants, a family allowance is given to assist dependents throughout the program. - Up to three years is the initial contract period, with the option to extend it to finish the PhD thesis and research requirements.
