The People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Commerce invites applications from anyone hoping to enrol in a degree program at any Chinese university.

Successful candidates of the MOFCOM Scholarship get a ¥45,000 annual stipend to support living expenses, hotel and airline coverage, and exemption from tuition fees.

We have provided thorough information, qualifying requirements, benefits, and a step-by-step application process for potential candidates for this post. The People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Commerce launched the MOFCOM Scholarship with the goal of fostering international collaboration and communication. It also seeks to nurture talent for underdeveloped nations.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) developed the Chinese Government Scholarship - Chinese University Program to assist Chinese universities in different provinces or autonomous areas to accept outstanding foreign students for graduate study in China.

Since 2008, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has granted USTC permission to accept full-time master’s and doctorate candidates under the Chinese Government Scholarship program.

Eligibility criteria

  • Citizenship: Must be under 45 years old (born after September 1, 1974) and a citizen of a developing nation other than the People’s Republic of China.
  • Note — Requires to be in excellent health.
  • Also, Work Experience: Three years of minimum work experience is required.
  • Plus, Education: To apply for a master’s program or a doctorate program, one must have a bachelor’s degree; for a master’s program, one must have a master’s degree.
  • Requirement: Language Proficiency: Must exhibit a level of English or Chinese proficiency that satisfies the program’s academic requirements.
  • Host Country: China.
  • Note — Eligible Countries: All Developing Countries.

  • Plus, Tuition and costs: Students are not charged for tuition, teaching materials, research and survey costs, dissertation guidance fees, or allowance for programs taught in English.
  • Requirement: Accommodations: There is free housing available on campus.
  • Monthly Allowance:.
  • Note — 36,000 RMB for each master’s student annually.
  • Also, 42,000 RMB annually for each PhD candidate.
  • Plus, Resettlement cost: Each person is eligible for a one-time resettlement cost of 3000 RMB.
  • Requirement: Medical Insurance: applicants from abroad are eligible for free medical insurance.
  • International Airfare: All students will get a one-time, round-trip ticket.
  • Note — First flight to China following enrolment.
  • Also, After graduating, return home by plane.
  • Plus, A maximum of “n-1” foreign round-trip tickets per year for home visits (where “n” is the number of school years determined at enrollment, if “n” is less than or equal to three).
  • Requirement: Annual Assessment: Annual evaluation required of every student. Students who pass the review can keep receiving full scholarships for the following academic year.
  • The control of expenses: Other costs are not passed on to students; instead, they are overseen and utilized by the Ministry of Commerce or the universities as a whole. The Ministry of Commerce only offers financial aid to registered students for the duration of their studies. Sponsorship for continued education will not be granted to students who delay their graduation.
