About the Programme

CIP bridges theory and practice through real assignments, technical mentorship, and professional workflows. It aims to strengthen local capacity, build a pipeline of emerging development professionals, and prepare participants for evidence-informed decision-making, accountability, and sustainable development.

You do not need to start as an M&E expert, but you should show genuine interest in evaluation, evidence, development practice, research, learning, technology, or related areas - and be ready to participate actively.

Benefits

  • Knowledge and skills in monitoring and evaluation
  • Mentorship and coaching on an M&E-related career path
  • Hands-on work on evaluation projects
  • Priority consideration for future Cloneshouse project hiring
  • Access to workgroup events and live webinars
  • Network of evaluation professionals
  • Possible project-linked stipend and travel per diems (not a guaranteed salary)

Eligibility (2027 cohort)

  • Young / emerging professional from one of the listed West African countries
  • Curious, diligent, goal-oriented, and willing to learn
  • Interest in MEL, evidence, development, research, learning, or technology
  • Ready for independent learning, deadlines, mentorship sessions, teamwork, and professional communication
  • Shortlisted candidates may need a CV (with 2 referees) and proof of graduate-degree enrolment

Remuneration Note

Cloneshouse describes CIP as an unpaid internship that can function like a paid apprenticeship: Foundation does not pay a salary, but project teams may offer stipends, and travel/per diems apply if you travel for projects outside your location.
