What Is Colombia Government Scholarship.

The Colombian Government Scholarship is an initiative by ICETEX aimed at supporting foreign students to pursue higher education in Colombia.

The program promotes international cooperation and cultural exchange while providing academic opportunities in various fields.

Number of Scholarships

Through this call, up to 70 scholarships will be awarded across two categories

  • Postgraduate Studies: For foreign citizens wishing to pursue a specialization or master’s degree at participating Colombian public or private Higher Education Institutions.
  • Spanish Language + Postgraduate Studies: For foreign citizens from non-Spanish-speaking countries who require Spanish language training before beginning their specialization or master’s degree.

Duration of Program

  • Spanish Language Courses: Up to six (6) months
  • Specializations: Up to twelve (12) months
  • Master’s Degrees: Generally up to twenty-four (24) months
  • If a Master’s program has a curriculum of only three academic semesters, coverage is limited to eighteen (18) months.

  • Foreign citizens of any nationality can apply.
  • The Scholarship is open to all students who are from outside Colombia.
  • Not for Colombian citizens and nationals.
  • Must not have any marital or de facto relationship in Colombia.
  • Not be older than 50 years
  • Have a professional, undergraduate, or graduate degree in any area of knowledge.
  • Applicants can apply for up to three degree programs.
  • IELTS is not required.

Letter of Admission from the Colombian University

Further, my Score in Spanish Language Proficiency

  • An academic essay arguing the importance of your studies in Colombia

Moreover, Notarized copies of Academic Transcripts
