For the 2026 - 2027 academic year, Freie Universität Berlin, one of Germany’s top public research universities, is pleased to offer fully financed scholarships through the DAAD Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS) program. Funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), this esteemed program assists students from emerging and newly industrialized nations who wish to pursue master’s or doctoral degrees in Germany.

By allowing them to enroll in postgraduate programs in Germany that are development-focused, the EPOS initiative (Entwicklungsbezogene Postgraduiertenstudiengänge) seeks to empower international students.   • A citizen of a developing or recently industrialized nation (see the DAAD list of qualifying nations) is required.
  • Note — Must possess a bachelor’s degree that has been earned for at least four years.
  • Also, A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience is required.
  • Plus, Should exhibit excellent academic standing and evident development-related motivation.
  • Requirement: After completing the program, they must plan to return home to support the growth of their nation.
  • Must fulfill the necessary language competency requirements in either German or English, depending on the course selected.

  • Plus, Master’s students receive €992 per month, while PhD candidates receive €1,300.
  • Requirement: Complete exclusion from tuition.
  • The scholarship covers travel fees.
