ELIGIBILITY - Since the PhD programs are conducted in English, fluency in the language is required. - Applications are open to candidates of all nationalities. - Applicants must hold one of the following academic qualifications:. - A Master’s degree or a comparable credential, usually acquired through a four- or five-year academic program; or. - A degree from a foreign university that is comparable to a master’s degree from Italy. - During the review process, the GSSI selection committee will formally determine whether international qualifications are equivalent. - As part of the application evaluation process, candidates could be asked to submit formal verification of their degree completion or equivalency.

BENEFITS - There will be no tuition for the duration of the PhD program. - During the first year of the program, there is free lodging at the GSSI guesthouse. - After a valid rental agreement in L’Aquila is submitted, a monthly housing allowance will be given for the ensuing years. - Free lunch coupons are offered every working day. - Comprehensive insurance coverage for accidents and injuries occurring during PhD-related activity. - Laptop purchase award, contributing toward the cost of necessary study and research equipment.
