KEY DETAILS - Program level: Postdoctoral Fellowship - Funding: Fully Funded
ELIGIBILITY - Candidates may come from anywhere in the world. - Those who have just completed or are about to complete a PhD or comparable doctorate degree (including SJD and DPhil) in the social sciences are eligible to apply for the Harvard Academy Scholars degree. - Candidates need to have promising careers. - Those with an understanding of foreign languages, foreign history, and foreign cultures are given preference in the program. - The only people who qualify are academics who study law and social sciences. - The PhD must be completed by August 1, 2025, which is two years after the start date. The PhD must have been finished after July 31, 2023, in order to be considered for the September 20, 2024 deadline. - For the start date of August 1, 2025, PhD students who are almost finished with their dissertations must turn in degree conferral paperwork from their university registrar’s office by June 30, 2025. - A face-to-face interview is required of the finalists in December 2024. Finalists conducting interviews in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, will receive hotel accommodations and travel reimbursements from the Harvard Academy.
BENEFITS - The Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies in Cambridge will host the fellows who made the short list for a two-year in-residence program. - A stipend of $80,000 will be awarded annually to postdoctoral fellows. - Finalists conducting interviews in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, will receive hotel accommodations and travel reimbursements from the Harvard Academy. - Financial support for research, including travel expenses, will be provided to fellows. - Conferences with educational content are funded. - Included is health insurance. - Teaching is not a requirement for fellows, although it is a possibility.
