For the 2026 International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, the Chinese government is accepting applications from all across the world. This fully financed program, which is run by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLCE), includes full tuition, on-campus housing, an annual living stipend of ¥30,000, and complete health insurance. The scholarship is intended to support the need for Chinese language instructors around the world and advance the growth of Chinese language instruction globally. Through degree programs and possibilities for additional training, it also seeks to improve teachers’ professional development. By paying exceptional people to study or receive short-term training in China, the initiative contributes to the development of a robust global network of competent Chinese language instructors.
Eligibility Criteria
- must not be a citizen of China.
- A good attitude toward China, no criminal history, and adherence to both Chinese and host institution regulations are prerequisites.
- Strong academic performance, good behavior, and good physical and mental health are prerequisites.
- must be dedicated to a career in teaching, Chinese language instruction, or a similar sector.
- As of September 1, 2026, candidates must be between the ages of 16 and 35; current Chinese language instructors may be older than 45.
China is the host nation (Asia).
