General Eligibility
- Must be an international student enrolled at NYCU
- Should not be receiving other Taiwan government scholarships (exceptions may apply)
- Must possess a valid Alien Residence Certificate (ARC) for study purposes
Academic Requirements
- Undergraduate students: Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Master’s & Ph.D. students: Minimum GPA of 3.5
- Elite Ph.D. Scholarship (for renewal): Minimum GPA of 3.76
Language Requirement
- Undergraduate awardees: Completion of at least 4 Mandarin courses
- Master’s & Ph.D. awardees: Completion of at least 2 Mandarin courses
Outstanding New Student Scholarship
- Provides a monthly stipend (amount set by the selection committee)
- Tuition and credit fee waiver, either:
- Full waiver, or
- Reduced to local student rates
- May include additional matching funds from colleges, departments, or advisors
Elite Ph.D. Scholarship (New Students)
- Monthly stipend of NT$33,000:
- NT$25,000 from the Office of International Affairs
- NT$8,000 from advisor matching fund
- Full tuition and credit fee waiver
- Awarded for the first two years of Ph.D. study
Outstanding Existing Student Scholarship
- Provides a monthly stipend and/or tuition scholarship
- Tuition reduction options same as those for new student scholarships
- Awards are competitive and dependent on available budget
