Apply for the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP) 2026 - Cohort XI (also called DigiTalent) - a 12-month government internship for recent Kenyan ICT graduates, run by the ICT Authority for the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy.

Applications close on Monday, 7 September 2026 at midnight. Apply only online via the official DigiTalent recruitment portal. No paper or email applications.

What Is the Presidential Digital Talent Programme?

DigiTalent is a public - private partnership that bridges industry skill needs and local graduate talent. Interns get workplace experience, structured training, coaching, mentorship, certification pathways, and professional networks - building a pipeline of ethical ICT talent for government and industry in line with Kenya’s National ICT Master Plan.

The programme has supported thousands of ICT graduates across previous cohorts.

Who Can Apply

  • Kenyan youth aged 21 - 29 and currently unemployed
  • First Class or Second Class Honours - Upper Division (or equivalent) from a recognised institution, graduated in the last two years (from January 2024)
  • If awaiting graduation until December 2026: university recommendation/reference letter (signed and stamped) confirming First or Upper Second-Class Honours to be awarded
  • Recent graduates in BSc ICT or Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunication, Systems/Software, Security) with technical competencies for interview
  • Must not have previously undertaken a Government of Kenya internship
  • Ready for full-time deployment (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) in any Ministry, County, Department or Agency across Kenya’s 47 counties

Women, persons with disability, and graduates from ASAL regions are strongly encouraged to apply.

Foreign degrees: attach KNQA verification (and official Embassy translation if needed). GPA qualifications: attach Kenyan public university GPA equivalent.

  • Degree certificate or university recommendation/reference letter (if awaiting graduation)

  • KNQA / GPA equivalence documents where applicable

How to Apply

  1. Register on recruitment.digitalent.go.ke with ID/Passport number, surname, email, and password.
  2. Log in and complete personal, academic, and professional details plus referees.
  3. Upload all required documents and select your preferred track.
  4. Submit before 7 September 2026 at midnight. You may edit the application until the advert closes. Incomplete applications are not considered.

Giving false or misleading information can lead to a fine of up to KSh 200,000 and/or imprisonment of up to two years under the Public Service Commission Act.

Who is eligible?

Unemployed Kenyan youth aged 21 - 29 with First or Upper Second-Class Honours (from Jan 2024), in ICT/Engineering fields, who have not done a prior GoK internship.

Where will I be posted?

Full-time in any MCDA across Kenya’s 47 counties (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.).

How long is the programme?
