What Is the Skoll Scholarship?

The Skoll Centre funds social innovators who will use an Oxford MBA to deepen their skills for systems-level social and environmental change. Scholars join a lifelong Skoll community - not only a funding package.

The award is for the full-time one-year MBA only. It does not fund the part-time EMBA or other postgraduate degrees. 1+1 MBA applicants may apply, but Skoll covers only the MBA year.

Why Apply?

  • Full Oxford MBA fees covered
  • Living stipend of at least £21,805
  • Membership of the Skoll Scholar community and alumni network
  • Access to the Skoll Centre at Oxford Saïd
  • Women, historically underrepresented applicants, and candidates from the Global South are strongly encouraged to apply

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • Entrepreneurial experience: at least three years building and leading a social venture, with evidence of significant social impact
  • A social venture may be for-profit, not-for-profit, or a programme you led inside a larger organisation - the test is sustainable systems change
  • Changemaking: curiosity, humility, persistence; lived experience of the issue (or long-term work with those affected); self-awareness
  • Clear plan to use the Oxford MBA and Skoll Centre for long-term systemic impact
  • Demonstrated financial need for the scholarship
  • Must receive an MBA offer from Saïd Business School; the final stage requires an unconditional offer
  • No age limit

Oxford MBA Stages (Skoll-eligible)

  • Stage 1: Wednesday 2 September 2026
  • Stage 2: Monday 5 October 2026
  • Stage 3: Wednesday 4 November 2026
  • Stage 4 (last Skoll deadline): Wednesday 6 January 2027, 23:59 UK time
  • Stage 5: 15 March 2027 - not eligible for Skoll

Essays are reviewed after each admissions stage. You hear about scholarship status shortly after MBA decisions. Final shortlisting is in late March; interviews are in April or May.
