The National Institute for International Education (NIIED), a division of the Korean government, is in charge of the fully financed Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for Exchange Students. It is intended for foreign students who have been formally accepted into exchange programs at Korean universities with accreditation. Students can concentrate entirely on their academic and cultural experiences in Korea thanks to the scholarship’s extensive financial support, which includes tuition coverage, living stipends, flights, health insurance, and settlement allowances.
The GKS initiative seeks to advance international collaboration, academic mobility, and cultural exchange in higher education. It promotes the growth of international networks, the development of global viewpoints, and a deeper comprehension of Korean society, culture, and higher education systems.Participants have the chance to engage with Korean and international students, learn in a vibrant and cutting-edge academic setting, and take part in professional and cultural development initiatives run by NIIED and host universities.
The program offers a platform for improving research, academic skills, and cross-cultural competencies and is accessible to students from a variety of fields. GKS scholars frequently participate in extracurricular activities, internships, and community projects outside of the classroom, enhancing their professional and personal development and adding to international academic networks.
