The Gates grant (TGS) is a fully financed, highly selective grant available to low-income minority high school students. Outstanding student leaders get the scholarship each year, which pays for tuition, fees, lodging and board, books, transportation, and sometimes additional personal expenditures.

We will offer a thorough, step-by-step tutorial on how to apply for the esteemed Gates Scholarship in this post.

Starting in 2018, the Gates Scholarship will provide annual support to 300 students, with a total of 3,000 students benefiting over the program’s lifespan.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was established in 2017 and is still committed to assisting deserving minority students from low-income families in realizing their dreams.

This prestigious scholarship program is based on research showing that removing financial barriers to higher education will enable low-income minority students with great aptitude to succeed academically and get their degrees.

  • Has to be a senior in high school.
  • Note — Aim to enrol full-time in a four-year degree program in a private or public, not-for-profit, college or university in the US that has received accreditation.
  • Also, To keep the award, you must continue to be in excellent academic standing and maintain a cumulative weighted GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
  • Plus, Be a member of one or more of the following ethnic groups: African-American, Asian and Pacific Islander American, American Indian/Native Alaskan, Hispanic, and/or African-American.
  • Requirement: Must be a permanent resident, national, or citizen of the US.
