ELIGIBILITY - Must be registered as a full-time student for Fall 2025 and/or Winter 2026. - (newly admitted students may be enrolled only in Winter 2026). - Must reside in Alberta during the study period and ensure that the home or local address is updated in Bear Tracks. - Must complete the AGES Student Declaration Form confirming Alberta residency. - Must demonstrate strong academic achievement, shown through:. - A minimum GPA of 3.3 in the most recent 15 units of coursework. - (or Admission GPA for new students). - Research contributions, publications, presentations, artistic performances, or community involvement. - Prior academic awards, scholarships, or recognitions. - Must be enrolled in years 1 - 4 of a master’s program or years 1 - 6 of a doctoral program. - Students who have previously received the AGES or are in qualifying programs are not eligible.
BENEFITS - Offers financial assistance in recognition of exceptional academic achievement. - Provides chances to improve leadership, professional development, and research capabilities. - Encourages exceptional students to remain in Alberta and support the academic and research community there. - Value of Scholarships:. - A one-time payment of CAD $12,000 was given. - Distributed in accordance with the financial parameters set forth by the Government of Alberta. - To be eligible for the payment, recipients must have a legitimate home address in Alberta and a Canadian bank account. - Although the prize is not renewable, students who continue to meet eligibility requirements may be recommended by their professors in subsequent years.
