In order to give babies, the benefits of breast milk without the risk of HIV transmission, the project’s goal is to investigate the effects of giving HIV-infected breast milk to children. Donated breast milk will also be considered as an option.
In order to engage in this study, pregnant HIV-positive people and parents of infants exposed to the virus will be asked to participate in a semi-structured private interview or focus group. To learn more about their opinions on giving their infants donated breast milk is the goal.
