With the University of Waikato’s Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship, you can begin your academic career in New Zealand. For first-time international applicants to the institution with exceptional academic credentials, this scholarship offers up to NZD $15,000. Both undergraduate and graduate (taught or research) programs can use it.

Eligibility criteria

Overseas applicants who are living abroad at the time of application are required to apply.
The University of Waikato must not offer any programs or diplomas to the student.
The university must provide applicants with an unconditional or conditional offer letter.
New applicants to the University of Waikato’s undergraduate or graduate programs are welcome.
A full-time degree program lasting at least 12 months must be enrolled in by the students.
The University of Waikato should not be accepting applications at this time or have received funding for tuition.
Students participating in exchange programs, such as study abroad or student exchange agreements, are not eligible for the scholarship.
Candidates cannot have a Guaranteed Credit arrangement or be sponsored by any organization.
A GPA of at least a B+ is necessary.
