For overseas students, the Joint Japan/World Bank Yokohama National University Scholarship provides a fully supported opportunity. Tuition, housing, travel, medical care, and a JPY 200,000 monthly living allowance are all covered by this scholarship program.

For the 2025 - 2027 academic year, Yokohama National University (YNU) has launched its Master of Science Program in Infrastructure Management (IMP) in collaboration with the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP).

This prestigious program, which is run by the World Bank and supported by the Japanese government, aims to give experts from developing nations improved knowledge and abilities in infrastructure administration.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: In order to be eligible for funding, applicants must be citizens of a World Bank member countries. Eligibility is denied to dual citizens of developed nations.
  • Academic Requirements: Applicants must have completed their coursework at least three years before the scholarship application deadline and possess a Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) with distinction.
  • Professional Experience: After earning a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of three years of recent, full-time professional experience in development-related work is necessary. Applicants from nations on the World Bank’s “Harmonized List of Fragile Situations” are exempt.
  • Health: Candidates must be in good physical condition.
  • Exclusions: Those who are Executive Directors, employees, or close family members of World Bank or IMF staff are not permitted to apply.
