Apply for the Anita Hill Scholarship 2026 - a U.S. law school scholarship honoring Professor Anita Hill’s legacy of courage, integrity, and public service. Five selected students will each receive $10,000 in financial support plus membership in a national community of changemakers.

Established by a coalition of Professor Hill’s former students and fiscally sponsored by StitchCrew, the scholarship supports law students committed to advancing democracy, civil rights, and gender equity.

What Is the Anita Hill Scholarship?

Professor Anita Hill’s courage transformed the national conversation on gender, power, accountability, and justice. Her lifelong commitment to equality continues to inspire generations of lawyers, advocates, and public servants.

The Anita Hill Scholarship honors that legacy by providing financial assistance to law students whose work, life, or interests reflect Professor Hill’s enduring values of integrity, courage, and public service - especially students working to challenge inequity, strengthen democracy, or expand access to justice.

What Recipients Receive

  • $10,000 in financial support (five awards total)
  • Membership in the Anita Hill Scholars community
  • Connection to a national network of legal professionals and changemakers
  • Recognition as part of a cohort honoring Professor Hill’s public-service legacy

Eligibility

  • At least 18 years old
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. law school as a 2L or 3L (part-time students may apply - confirm on official FAQs)
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Demonstrate a commitment to advancing democracy, civil rights, and gender equity
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Agree to participate in the Anita Hill Scholars community, including recognition/marketing activities and an impact survey
  • Family members of the Selection Committee or current StitchCrew staff and board are not eligible
