Do you want to travel to Switzerland for the summer? The University of Lausanne’s (UNIL) 2025 Undergraduate Summer School in Biology is currently accepting applications. International undergraduate students who have finished two years of their bachelor’s degree are invited to participate in substantial research opportunities in biology and allied subjects through this fully sponsored program.

The Summer Undergraduate Research (SUR) Program will be conducted in English and lasts for eight weeks, from July to August. About 15 driven students will be chosen to work in prestigious labs, obtaining practical experience and developing critical scientific communication and reasoning abilities.In addition to conducting research, participants will take part in group academic activities such as faculty lectures, career workshops, and presentations. Students can engage in social activities including swimming, skiing, and city exploration in addition to their academic endeavors. This is a special chance to learn more about Swiss culture, develop your research abilities, and form deep connections.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A background in biology, medicine, or a similar discipline with a significant emphasis on biological sciences is required of applicants.
  • In order to be eligible for the SUR program, candidates must have finished two years of their bachelor’s degree and be starting their third year.
  • Because the program is competitive, students must be in the top 5% of their class or have a GPA of at least 3.75.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English is necessary.
  • For the duration of the international summer program, candidates must be accessible.
  • Students from both domestic and foreign countries are eligible to apply for the UNIL SUR Program 2025.
  • Since the program will be conducted in English, fluency in the language is required.

  • In order to assist with additional living expenses during the program, each participant will receive CHF 1,500.
  • At the conclusion of the program, students will receive reimbursement for their travel costs, with CHF 1,200 for international travel and CHF 500 for travel within Europe.
  • All overseas students who need it can get help with their visas.
