Tibetan students can now apply for fully financed undergraduate and graduate scholarships through the Dalai Lama Trust’s 2025 Annual Scholarship Program. This program, which is run by the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, advances the preservation of Tibetan youths’ cultural identity, values, and sense of social duty while empowering them by providing them with access to higher education.

Academically Promising Students
- For students who have shown consistent academic effort but did not achieve high marks in their Class XII board exams

Additional Eligibility Conditions
- Must hold a valid Green Book (GB) with contributions paid up to March 31, 2024
- Must possess a valid Registration Certificate (RC)
- Applicants from Nepal, Bhutan, Kalimpong, Darjeeling, and Gangtok must obtain settlement verification
- Applicants must not be receiving any other scholarship
- Only students pursuing degree-level programs are eligible (vocational or certificate courses are not supported)
Undergraduate Scholarships

- Open to students enrolled in undergraduate or diploma programs with a minimum duration of 3 years
Postgraduate Scholarships
- Total available seats: 5
- Exclusively for students who have previously received the Dalai Lama Trust Undergraduate Scholarship
Funding Coverage
- Covers full tuition fees and academic expenses
- Scholarship amount is disbursed directly to the student’s personal bank account (preferably with the State Bank of India)
