The Singapore Asia Journalism Fellowship 2026, a fully financed and expense-covered opportunity for journalists already residing in Asia, is currently accepting applications. The Temasek Foundation and the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) collaborate to sponsor the fellowship. Outstanding journalists from all across Asia come together for an eight-week professional and cultural exchange experience as part of this esteemed mid-career program.

Since 2009, the fellowship has brought together media professionals from several Asian nations to discuss significant regional issues, build journalism skills, and share ideas. Four weeks of online instruction will be followed by four weeks in Singapore for the 2026 program. Participants will interact with other journalists and professionals from throughout the region through workshops, lectures, field trips, and peer-learning exercises.

The fellowship does not need an application fee.

Eligibility criteria

  • A minimum of five years of professional journalism experience is required of applicants.
  • Note — Candidates ought to be employed as journalists in Asia full-time.
  • Also, Proficiency in both written and spoken English is necessary.
  • Plus, Applicants who are employed must provide a letter of recommendation from their employer.
  • Requirement: For the full eight-week fellowship program, participants must be available.
  • If journalism is their primary source of income, freelance journalists are also qualified.
