For students enrolling for September 2026 - 2027 admission, the University of Glasgow Sanctuary Scholarship offers completely financed undergraduate and graduate taught study possibilities. Full tuition, £5,000 annually for study-related expenses, and housing for the duration of the program are all covered by the scholarship.

Applicants who have been compelled to come to the UK for humanitarian reasons and encounter difficulties in obtaining higher education are eligible for up to 30 Sanctuary Scholarships. Prospective students who meet the requirements to be admitted to the University of Glasgow’s undergraduate or graduate taught programs for the 2026 - 2027 academic year are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria

  • possess a definite offer, either unconditional or conditional, to study full-time at the University of Glasgow in 2025 - 2026.
  • have filed an application for asylum in the UK, are challenging a denial of asylum, or have received Refugee Status, Humanitarian Protection (HP), or Discretionary Leave (DL) from the UK Home Office.

Have entered the UK via one of the following programs

  • UKRS, or the UK Resettlement Scheme
  • Resettlement Program for Afghan Citizens
  • Policy for Afghan Relocations and Assistance (ARAP)
  • Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Program for Syrians (VPRS)
  • Sponsorship Program for Ukraine (Homes for Ukraine)
  • Family Scheme in Ukraine
