Learn about the University of Waterloo Scholarships, which provide up to $10,000 in financial aid for overseas students pursuing undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral degrees, during the 2025 - 2026 academic year. The David Johnston - Lebovic Foundation International Experience Awards provide chances for study in any undergraduate or graduate program at Waterloo, supporting students from both Canada and other countries. Faculty members will nominate eligible applicants, and selection will be based on the academic excellence displayed during the admissions process. The objective of this endeavor is to foster a diversified global learning environment and enable gifted individuals. Strong academic record necessary (minimum 70% for undergraduates, minimum 75% for graduates).
Note — Full-time undergraduates and graduates are qualified for exchanges and cooperative work in Israel.
Also, Applicants from abroad who pay foreign fees and have a valid study permission for Canada are eligible to apply full-time.
Plus, Preference for participants in research-based programs.
Requirement: Usually given to students who are just beginning their program.
Academic achievement and advancement without the need for probation.
Note — Accepts receipt in conjunction with other scholarships (e.g., OGS, UW Grad Scholarship).
Also, Steer clear of excessive self-funding or concurrent overseas sponsorship.
Plus, Aside from those who have finished their master’s IMSA, previous IMSA recipients are not eligible.
Requirement: Admission applications are automatically considered; faculty members make the final selection.
Stricter qualifying standards may be established by faculties.

Plus, For one-term study experiences, the David Johnston–Lebovic Foundation International Experience Awards offer up to $2,500; for one-term work or volunteer experiences, the awards range from $2,500 to $5,000; and for two-term work or volunteer experiences, the awards offer up to $10,000.
Requirement: With a maximum of six periods, the International Master’s Award of Excellence is worth $2,500 every term.
