Eligibility (Core Qualifications)
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any field, or currently enrolled with diploma expected by August of the enrolment year
- Outstanding academic record
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary study of China
- Record of extracurricular achievement, community engagement, social responsibility, and leadership potential
- English proficiency (unless exempt under official rules)
- International applicants: non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport (special rules apply for former Chinese nationals - see official page)
- Peking University does not allow concurrent enrolment in other degree programmes
English Requirements (Minimums)
- IELTS Academic: overall 7.0
- TOEFL iBT: overall 100 (institution code C488)
- Cambridge English Scale (Advanced): overall 185
- CET 6: overall 600 / TEM 4: pass “良好” or above (where applicable)
Tests must be taken after 1 September 2025. TOEFL MyBest, Home Edition, IELTS Indicator/Online/One Skill Retake are not accepted. Native English speakers and graduates of English-taught degrees (undergraduate+) are typically exempt - except HMT applicants, who must still submit scores (or take ESL after enrolment). Send IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge scores directly to “Yenching Academy of Peking University”.
