Eligibility
- Africa-oriented studies/research in the social sciences or humanities
- Master’s student, PhD candidate, postdoctoral researcher, or mid-career researcher
- Affiliated to and based at a university or research centre in Sweden, Finland, Denmark or Iceland when you apply and when you take up the scholarship
- Any citizenship is allowed if the affiliation rule is met
- Not eligible: current or previous NAI employees or people otherwise professionally affiliated with NAI
- Application and appendices must be in English; incomplete applications are not considered
Required Documents
- Up-to-date CV (including publications, if any)
- Research project outline (3 - 5 pages): objectives, method and timeframe, brief theoretical basis
- Work plan (1 page) specific to the NAI stay
- Signed letter of support from supervisor or head of department confirming affiliation and field of research
Proposals are evaluated primarily on the research outline. Write in your own words - using AI to draft your text may disadvantage your application.
